Moments Etched in Obscura


     Obscura is the Photography Club at IPB University in Indonesia. It's a student organization (Ormawa) that focuses on photography, with activities like photography workshops, hunting events, and exhibitions. One of their recent activities was a large-scale hunting event called "Hunting Akbar," which aimed to explore nature through macro photography.


     April 19th We heading to school with excitement that we are going to explore another interesting activity and meet new friends. Obscura members introduced us with their pastime activity. They are so thoughtful to present us about different use of the camera lenses (translated in English) after teaching us on how to use camera to take unforgettable and beautiful photos (one time opportunity). We go out and find some spot to practice but turns out to have the best photos.


 


     The best shots aren’t just captured by the camera—they’re made with the best people beside you.

From Lecture to Life: Drawing Plants and Grafting Cacao

     On our 9th day as exchange students at IPB University, we had another exciting and enriching experience that blended classroom learning with practical fieldwork. The day was filled with discovery, skill-building, and bonding with classmates — a perfect blend of science and friendship.      We began the day with a lecture on Seed Technology alongside our classmates. Our task was to identify various plant samples that were brought to class and sketch them. While working on the activity, I managed to sneak in a quick breakfast since I was feeling quite hungry — luckily, the teacher had already finished the lecture and the atmosphere was relaxed, giving us the freedom to work at our own pace.      After completing our plant drawings, we headed to the shed for a hands-on grafting activity. My Second Day; An Unforgettable Day of Learning and Discovery as an Exchange Student in Indonesia

     •••    As exchange students in Indonesia, every day presents new experiences and adventures. Our second day was a perfect example of how stepping outside of our comfort zone can lead to memorable encounters, new friendships, and an incredible learning journey. From attending our first class to visiting one of the most advanced laboratories at IPB University, this day was filled with excitement, surprises, and knowledge. —-We woke up early, eager to attend our first official class, but ended up entering late because we weren’t sure of the exact location.
